How will the conference work?

Virtual Conference
The highlight in the NaToxAq calendar is now held online on 24th and 25th September 2020. The official program will run both days from 9 am - 4.30 pm (UTC/GMT +2). All registered participants will receive a link to the Conference platform to attend on the actual conference days via Zoom as well as further information how to access the pre-recorded contributions on 21st September. We will be more than happy to meet you during the conference days in the live sessions where you will also have the option to get your questions answered straight away by the presenters. Additionally, you will be able to watch all presentation and posters in your own time from 21st September to 4th October.

Accessing presentations and posters in your own time
All contributions will be available online from 21st September to October 4 allowing you, as a registered participant, to watch posters and presentations whenever it fits you best. We highly encourage you to get familiar with both, posters and oral presentations before the broadcasting day(s), since it will enable a more focused discussion and also is a key advantage of the online format. On Monday, 21st September you will receive an email with all necessary information for joining our virtual conference, including the link for the online interface.

Plenary Sessions:

There will also be plenary talks by our keynote speakers:

24th Sep, 9.20 am: Dr. Ingrid Chorus (UBA) - Cyanobacterial contamination of surface waters

24th Sep, 3.20 pm: Prof. Alan T. Stone (Johns Hopkins University) - Aqueous chemistry of natural compounds

25th Sep, 9.20 am: Prof. John Fawell (Cranfield University) - Importance of sound science underpinning regulation

Each keynote lecture finishes with an extended timeslot for discussions, since we believe that the experiences and oversight of the renowned experts is an invaluable resource for new inspiration, connection of research fields and for new collaborations.

Session Chairs
Members of the NaToxAq consortium will guide you through talks, posters and discussions as chairpersons in groups of 2-3 people. Please don’t hesitate to contact them with inquiries with respect to your presentation – all chairpersons will be listed on the website.

Best Presentation Awards
We will award your active contribution by handing out the “NaToxAq Presentation Award” and the “NaToxAq Poster Award”. The best contribution of each session will be chosen by the chairs and the overall winner determined by our invited speakers. The overall winner will receive a 500€ voucher for a book of own choice.
